During the Korean War in the 1950s, it was commonplace for U.S. military pilots and aircrews to have their flight caps customised by local embroiderers while on R&R in Seoul or Tokyo. The Korea ’51 from Papa Nui draws inspiration from these unique squadron caps, capturing their essence beautifully with a period-accurate Asiatic machine embroidery design. Made from 100% cotton burgundy velvet, this 6-panel cap features a contrasting green cloth lining, finished with a herringbone twill sweatband and a traditional flip visor.
